We created a powerpoint presentation to pitch our ideas to the rest of the media group. Our presentation consisted of ideas, characters, possible actors and the narrative of our opening. We decided on the name of our film: The Snatch, and basically outlined the start of our planning process.
Our film is about a little girl being kidndapped by family friend. It starts with a little girl (Sharlize) being looked after by the snatcher (Maria), then her mother (Gemma) coming home. We are then shown shots of Maria and Sharlize together, with a voiceover of Gemma sacking Maria. Afterwards, Maria comes to pick Sharlize up from a one-off baby sitter's (Sue) house with shakey reasoning. Maria then walks away with the child.
This film would be considered a thriller because it taps into a mother's worst nightmare, and it is freaky how easily Sharlize can be taken by someone 'trusted'.
Our characters are: Sharlize, Maria, Gemma and Sue. We will film on Peabody Estate, Herne Hill. Our target audience is possibly parents, or young adults. the film could be watched by anyone, as it has all the thriller conventions.
